Paul D. Hass, 61, of West Monroe, passed away on Tuesday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 3, 1950 in Syracuse, son of Walter and Catherine Bistrovich Hass.

He served in the US Navy from 1970-94. Paul was in the Persian Gulf War and upon retirement, he was Chief Petty Officer. After retirement, Paul worked for Burns Security, Carrier and the VA Hospital. On June 21, 1972 he married Bonnie Wood in Central Square. Paul was a member of the VFW in Constantia and a member of the American Legion, Central Square. He will be missed dearly by family and all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie, 2 daughters; Kimberly (Jeffrey) Hunsberger, Staunton,VA, Michelle (Hass) Cabrera, Marshall, VA, 4 grandchildren, ; Derrike & Kordelia Hunsberger, Seth & Leilani Cabrera, 3 brothers; Leonard (Georgette), Donald (Margaret), Richard (Doris), 3 sisters; Joyce Brosnan, Betty (Kenneth) Molina and Diane Wiley.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main St., North Syracuse with a brief service to follow. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Paul's ride to Arlington, c/o Bonnie Hass, 51 Maplewood Dr., West Monroe, NY 13167.
