Paul M. Adams

October 4, 1969 — December 16, 2023

Paul Monroe Adams (born Oct 4th, 1969) died in his home in Marietta, NY on Saturday, Dec.16th, 2023 at the age of 54.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Adams and is survived by his wife, Linda Adams; his children, Luke, Jotham, Carmen, Wesley, Abigail, Gabriel, Phoebe, Paul Jr, Josiah, Sylvana, Evangelyn, and Kara Adams; his mother, Diane Adams; and his brothers, Gregory, Matthew, and Nathan.

Paul graduated from Faith Heritage High School in 1987, completed his BA in Christian Education at Messiah College in 1991, and went on to work for the Syracuse Rescue Mission Alliance from 1992 to 1998. He then worked at EnTherm as a Project Manager from 1998 to 2004. He returned to work for the Syracuse Rescue Mission from 2004 to 2008 and later opened Adams Eden Camp from 2008 to 2016 as a family-owned and operated business partnering with Team Adventure to bring lodging, hiking, and ropes course adventures to the public.

Maintaining and improving the property at Adams Eden Camp, building ropes course elements, and forging new trails alongside his children and homeschool apprentices were great joys for Paul. He was known for his humor, quick wit, thinking outside the box, and phrases like, "how hard could it be?" He was also known for tackling difficult projects and was largely self-taught in every manner of construction and engineering.

He was a visionary and a doer. He was not daunted by building ziplines, constructing a 40-foot climbing wall, or developing trail systems on the 320+ acre plot of land in LaFayette, NY that comprised Adams Eden Camp. The trails that he, his children, and his apprentices blazed on this land are still in use today at what is now known as Wonderland Forest. He was also the Vice President of Adams Brothers Communications from 2001 to 2020.

He traveled with his brother Greg to 25 states and frequently brought his children along on his work trips. In his free time, he loved to canoe with his children and had a tradition of hosting a New Year's egg-roll party for friends and family. He shared the Word of God with his children and faithfully attended Trinity Fellowship, and later Pompey Community Church.

He was a storyteller and loved to recount stories of the shenanigans that he and his brothers would engage in as children, with caution to the wind, and usually involving go-karts, firecrackers, or skateboards.

He loved his family, and he was not afraid to live a little unconventionally to achieve his goals.

A private gathering will be held for immediate family members on Sunday, January 7th, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kara, Eva, and Sylvi's College Fund at https://gofund.me/063ca50a
