Paul A. Hollister, 60, formerly of Syracuse, passed on Thursday at home with family by his side.
Paul was born and lived in Syracuse most of his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul Sr and Bertha (Decker) and a brother Leon. Surviving are his domestic partner Denise Black Hollister, son Jason, sisters, Brenda Bessette, Donna (Kelley) Beyor and Catherine (Donald) Beyor; grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Paul was employed in the painting industry for 45 years and spent the last 18 as an instructor for the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. He instructed apprentices, conducted OSHA Health and Safety Courses, CPR and Drivers Education.
Paul had been a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, the Iroquois German Shepherd Dog Club of Syracuse, NY and the Onondaga Kennel Association.
Calling hours will be 4pm – 7pm, Tuesday, March 19th at New Comer Funeral Home; 705 N. Main Street, N Syracuse, NY 13212
There will be a gathering at the American Legion in Mattydale on Wednesday, March 20th from 12-2pm.
