Ona C. Smith, 102, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday.
She was born on May 26, 1914 daughter of the late Milton and Maude Carpenter.
She worked in food service for schools in both Auburn and Syracuse, NY for approximately 30 years.
A strong Evangelical Christian, Ona served her Savior faithfully her entire life. Since 1958 she has been a member of the Syracuse Alliance Church.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Leonard after 58 years of marriage.
Surviving are her children, Leonard Smith of Flowery Branch, GA, David (Deborah) Smith of Auburn, NY, 4 grandchildren; Jenny (Howard) Haines, Stephen (Kristy), Smith, Holly (Paul) Gartley, Susan Smith Learn, 6 great grandchildren; Howard Haines, IV, Kathryn Smith, Alex Haines, Sydney Gartley, Julia Gartley and Jacob Gartley.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 1-3pm at the Syracuse Alliance Church, 3112 Midland Ave., Syracuse, with services to follow.
