Ok Cha "Kim" Fairchild, (78) lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on December 18, 2023, with her precious daughters by her side.
She was born in Pusan, South Korea to Pok Myong Kim and Soe Kum Yang. She immigrated to the United States in 1970, living in Alaska and then relocating to Central New York.
She worked at Leabury's (Pietrefesa) for 20 years. She was a devote Christian; being a long-time member of North Syracuse Baptist Church, she read and transcribed the Bible in both English and Korean daily. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, sewing, singing, yoga, cooking and watching Korean dramas.
She was very organized, particular and she didn't like stupid questions. She had a great sense of humor and liked to make everyone laugh. Later in life, she obtained her high school diploma.
She is survived by her two precious daughters; Kimberly A. Spoto (David M. Spoto, Jr.) and Kelly A. Fairchild (Douglas M. Roussin), two sisters; Keum Cha Kim and Young Sook Kim, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funeral's, 705 N Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals , 705 N Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212, with burial at North Syracuse Cemetry with a reception to follow.
