O.C. Pyrtle of Clay, passed away October 17, 2018 at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, after a 3 year battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Gaynel, of 46 years.
He has 12 children, Michelle, Lisa, Linda, Joyce, Brenda, Mary, Christine, John, Michael, Anthony, David and Dwayne. He has 24 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
He was born to parents Rufus and Josephine Pyrtle of North Carolina, where he spent his childhood to young adulthood before moving to New York. He had many siblings; Ella Mae, Shirley, Janice, Francis, Caroline, Maggie, Betty, Mac, Harry and Hewey.
He Loved his family, cheeseburgers, and his work as a self-employed contractor.
He is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Harry and Hewey and his grandson Connor Murphy.
