Norman C. Bullett

Norman C. "Buster" Bullett, 88, of Mattydale, passed away on Wednesday after a long illness, to join his loving wife Helen. He was born in Cicero, son of the late Benjamin and Ruby Bullett. He proudly served his country in the Army during WW II. Norman's ship the USS Leopoldville was torpedoed in the English Channel on Christmas Eve 1944 on the way to the Battle of the Bulge. The ship went down and 800 soldiers perished. He received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart Medals. Norman retired from the North Syracuse Central School District after 32 years in the Transportation Dept. He was very devoted to his family and loved his pets and wildlife. Buster was an SU, Syracuse Chiefs and an avid Yankee Fan. His hobbies included coaching, camping and working on cars. He was recently predeceased by his wife, Helen in March of this year, and brother Benjamin.
Surviving are two sons: Norman A. (Dawn) of Clay, Charles of Mattydale, daughter Lori (Buzz) Floyd of Cicero, six grandchildren: Heather (Jason) Fabian, Bryan, Brandon, Ryan and Lauren Floyd, Aaron, along with great grandson, Maddux.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday 2-5pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Monday 11am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery.
