Norma Bordonaro

March 11, 1932 — December 24, 2013

Norma "Noni" Bordonaro
December 24, 2013

No one lived by the credo "I did it my way" more than Norma "Noni" Bordonaro who passed away peacefully at home on December 24th 2013 at age 81. The last few months of her life she spent constantly surrounded by family and loved ones. She maintained her sense of humor to the end.

Noni was born in Helena, Montana on March 11, 1932 but grew up in California. She moved to Upstate New York in her mid 20's and remained there for the rest of her life. She was married to Santo Bordonaro, who was the love of her life. She selflessly cared for him the last 12 years of his life after he suffered a massive heart attack that left him debilitated. Santo left us in March of 2011 (his page is also viewable at New Comer).

She was predeceased by her son, Rick Ryan who passed away in December of 2005. She is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Borreggine and Kathleen Mirisoloff. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Her family always came first and she always ended visits or wrote on cards "I love you BIG". When we said "I love you" she always said "I love you Bigger". She was faithful to her friends who will miss her spunk and say she was "one of a kind". She was a vibrant, feisty soul with a great sense of humor. The loss of her son, Rick and husband, Santo was a lot for her to bare and even though she put on a brave face she never truly recovered. The void left by her passing will be felt and to say she will be missed only touches the surface.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to Oswego County Hospice, Bunner Street, Oswego, NY 13126. Without their support and help we could not have cared for her in the manner she deserved.

The family would like to personally thank, Erika and Donna who cared for her during the day and Becky who stood by us at the end.
