Nora Nancy (Shampine) Sternberg, 78,passed away May 28th at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Syracuse, her family moved to Bridgeport-Cicero when she was a young girl. Nora graduated from North Syracuse High School. She enjoyed crafts, playing games and spending time with friends and family. Her kids were her life.
She was predeceased by her husband, Zane N. Sternberg in 1997; father and mother, Lyndon K. and Helen E. (McCartney) Shampine; brothers, Jack L. Shampine, Donald J. "Jimmy" Shampine and sister, Betty Shampine.
Surviving are her children, Edward J. Sternberg, Lyndon D. Sternberg, Crystal G. Sternberg and Brian K. (Kimberly) Sternberg; grandchildren, Kimberly P. (Doug) Mitchell, Linzy, Chelsea and Zane Sternberg; great-grandchildren, Connor and Derrek Mitchell; brother, Edward C. Shampine; sister, Molly (Ron) Philpot; "sister" Bonnie Marzullo; along with many nieces,nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call from 4-7PM on June 2nd at New Comer Funeral Home in North Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY in Nora's name.
