Nicole Levette Shaw

Nicole "Nikki" LeVette Shaw, 54, of Syracuse, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2023. Nikki was born in Syracuse, New York on June 19, 1969 to Valerie Jean Shaw. Nikki graduated from Corcoran High School in 1987 and went on to attend Syracuse University where she studied Law. She was a brilliant student, always making the Deans List. She was very respected and loved by all who knew her. Nikki was an avid reader, played spades, and loved to watch movies. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She spent quality time every day on the phone with her sister Tish, brother Benji, and her mother Valerie who was more like her best friend. Nikki will be remembered for her love, laughter, and ability to speak her truth no matter what. She had the innate ability to open herself up to those in need no matter who they were. She will be deeply missed.

Nikki was preceded in death by grandmother, Mary Bonner; and grandfather, Harry Shaw Sr.

She is survived by her mother, Valerie Jean Shaw; sister, Natisha A. Shaw of Lincoln, NE; brother, Ernest S. Shaw of Syracuse; children all of Syracuse, NY, Akeem R. Saffold-Shaw, Sierra Saffold-Shaw, Nyrasia Sherman, Ashanti Kent; grandchildren, Akaryia "Nana Baby" Nicole Shaw and ToniiAnn "Tuhey" Saffold-Shaw; 8 nieces and nephews , Michael Shaw of Lincoln NE, Shy-Kier Booker of Lincoln NE, Shakira Benson of Lincoln NE, Rosiona Booker of Lincoln NE, Tanasia (Aniko) Shaw of Syracuse, Ernest Shaw Jr. of Syracuse, Matthew Shaw of Lincoln NE, and Morgan Shaw of Lincoln NE; and a host of loving great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 10-12pm at Bethany Baptist Church where a funeral service will be held at 12PM. Burial will be made in Oakwood Cemetery. A repast will be held immediately following the burial from 3-6pm at Peace Incorporated, 202 South Beech Street, Syracuse, NY 13210. Memorial contributions may be made in Nikki's name to her children. They are truly thankful for all family and friends during this difficult time.
