Nicholas J. Scaravillo, 89, of North Syracuse, passed away on Sunday. Nick was a proud veteran of the USMC serving his country in WWII ('43-'45) and in Korea ('50-'51). Nick was a teacher for 34 years with the Syracuse City School District before retiring. He touched the lives of many of his students who kept in touch with him over the years.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Ellie; children, Judy Vail, Marlese Polson, Mitchell (Kim) Vulcano, Mary Jo Vulcano; grandchildren, Kenny, Nicole, Michelle, Stephen, and Kate; several great grandchildren; siblings, Sam Scaravillo and Nancy Mathews; and several nieces and nephews.
Nick will be greeted in Heaven by his recently departed son, Louis Vulcano, his son-in-law, Dick Vail, and his beloved brother, Jimmy.
