Natalie A. (Hunt) Church
October 31, 2013
Natalie A.H. Church, 80, passed away peacefully in her home on October 31, 2013.
She was born in Middletown, the daughter of Adelbert P. and Sarah A. (Bailey) Hunt. Natalie was a lifelong resident of Middlesex County, growing up in Middletown and raising her family in Durham. For her final years she moved to Central New York to be near her daughter, Poetre. During her life she was a homemaker, worked in the banking industry, and finished her career working for Mueller Bookbindery.
Natalie had attended the First United Methodist Church in Middletown where she spent many years in the choir. She was also very involved with the Democratic Party in Durham; running the Democratic Women's Bread Booth at the Fair for numerous years as well as being the Registrar of Voters for Durham for decades.
Those who knew her will always remember her for her generous spirit, her kindness to animals, and her devotion to her children and friends. We will also remember with great fondness her Sour Cream coffee cakes delivered during the Holidays, candy apples and drop cakes for Halloween and scotcheroos during the summer.
She is predeceased by her mother, father, two brothers, and sister. She is survived by her three children; Josh Church of Sandy, Utah; Poetre (Church) Shaw of Liverpool, NY; Melora Church of Enterprise, Florida, five grandchildren and nieces and nephews in the Middletown area.
Natalie decided to donate her remains to the Anatomical Gift Program at SUNY Upstate Hospital in Syracuse, NY. A private family service will be held when her ashes are released from the Hospital.
Contributions can be made in Natalie's name to the Alzheimer's Association of Connecticut by mailing them to: 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
