Nancy A. Thoryk, 92, of Syracuse, passed away May 30, 2017. Born on April 17, 1925, her parents were Joseph and Lena (Nappa) Bizzaro.
She was a lifetime resident of Syracuse, NY. Originally from the City Northside, she was a longtime resident of Westvale. Nancy worked at General Electric as a Drill Press Operator during World War II. Then as an elevator operator at Hotel Syracuse and A&P Warehouse in the 1950s.
She retired from St Camillus Rehab and Nursing Center in 2008 at age 83, after 25 years of dedicated service. A dog lover of Pomeranians, for over 40 years, she owned Taboo, Juba, & Wilson. Nancy was predeceased by siblings Rose LaGrange, Carmen Nappa, and Janet Piper.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Williams in Woodbridge Virginia. Sons, Robert Thoryk, George (Theresa) Thoryk, Jr., Daughters, Carol Thoryk-O'Leary, Linda (Brian) Fogarty, Grandchildren, Dennis (Janice) Thoryk, Donald Thoryk, Barbara (TJ) Dioguardi, Ryan O'Leary, Kristen O'Leary, Amanda Fogarty, Justin Fogarty, Adam Thoryk, Jason Thoryk, Lauren Thoryk, Great-Grandchildren, Melissa Thoryk, Daniel (Amber) Thoryk, Rachel Dioguardi, Emily Dioguardi, Sarah Dioguardi, great-great granddaughter, Ava Thoryk. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, June 10, 2017, from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm, at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main, North Syracuse, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 6:00 pm.
