Mildred Z. "Millie" (Zappola) Tursi, 89, of Mattydale, passed away on Tuesday at Crouse Hospital. Millie was born on November 26, 1924, daughter of the late John and Maria Zappola. She was employed at GE for 32 years and enjoyed her trips to the Turning Stone Casino. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, Sr. and her infant son, Lawrence, Jr., 4 brothers, Joe, Mike, Paul & John.
Surviving are her daughter, Theresa (R. Daniel) Burns, grandchildren, Thomas Venuti, Philip Scibilia, Daniel Burns, Lucia Barbieri, Christopher and Sarah Burns, 1 beautiful great grandson, Jack Dempsey Burns, 3 sisters: Mary Guhin, Rose (Peter) Daino, Josephine (Ben) Rinaldi, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-3pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Graveside services will be held on Monday 10am at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.
