Mrs. Michele G. Humeston, 71, of Syracuse, the daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude Graham departed this life on Friday, August 10, 2012 after fighting a long battle with cancer.

Born in Buffalo, NY, she worked and retired from Onon. Community College. After her retirement she worked as a substance abuse counselor at the Syracuse Community Health Center and taught substance abuse classes at Onon. Community College. She was preceded in death by husband John Humeston.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher G. Graham and David M. (Cassandra) Graham; a stepson, Jere Humeston; four grandchildren, Raheem Shareef, Mikel Graham, Mariah Graham and Marcus Graham; a great granddaughter, Brinna Shareef; sister, Carmen Lattimore and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of the National Council of Negro Women and she was a National Certified Addiction Counselor.

A Calling hour will be Thursday from 2-3PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Services will follow at 3PM. Burial will be private.
