Michael "Mikey" A. Stpierre, Sr. 30, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday August 31, 2023 at his home. Michael was born in Syracuse on October 30, 1992. He was preceded in death by his father Garrett Gardner, Sr.
Michael was employed at Christopher Communities in Syracuse. Mikey took pride in every job he completed and juggled task upon task, until he was able to fulfill them. He had one of the strongest work ethics and biggest hearts, even if it was to change a light bulb; he would tie up his work boots so a tenant didn't have to struggle in the dark.
Mikey loved to fish and was always willing to teach anyone to use a fishing pole, as long as they provided good company (he would also bait your worm if you asked nicely). Mikey was a master griller who always made sure people had an invitation and a plate.
He was a huge caffeine advocate. His favorites were 5-Hours', but only the X-tra strength ones. Mikey loved the simple things in life like a morning cigarette, a nice drive, a Reese's peanut butter cup, a series with multiple episodes and multiple seasons, and the sound of his children's laughter. Mikey would be the first person to give you the shirt off his back and a smack in the head all in the same moment. He was an instant friend to anyone who needed one, and to be called a brother or friend by him was the highest honor. He had a wild sense of humor and would do anything to make someone laugh (like put on a wig or sing to the most embarrassing songs). Mikey put other peoples' needs above his own and tried to make everyone feel important and heard even if he wasn't. He was taught respect, loyalty, and that family isn't blood, but a bond; he instilled the same in his children. Losing Mikey will always be a tremendous loss. Words will never describe how much he poured into other people and altered the lives around him.
Surviving Michael is his wife, Cassandra Stpierre; children, Michael A Stpierre Jr., Isabella Navin, Daemon Stpierre, Paul Stpierre. siblings, Beth Bowhall, Jordan Popps, Meghan Snyder, Hannah Gardner, Daisy Gardner, Garrett Gardner Jr.; mother, Stephanie Gardner; uncle/best friend, Eric Gardner. He took on a father figure role in addition to being the uncle ("funcle") to Madison Kelly, Emmett Capener, and Forrest Gardner. Loving uncle to Christian Popps, Leah Popps, and Bentley Popps. He was a friend and confidant to so many.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 8th, 2023 from 4-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
