Michael H. Seubert, 70, of Baldwinsville, affectionately known as “Seubie” and “Chico”, passed away January 19, 2025 after a brief illness, with his loved ones by his side. Michael was born in Syracuse, New York on July 10, 1954 to Hans and Marcelle Seubert. Mike owned and operated Mike’s Service Center, Solvay for over 40 years, where he built a solid reputation with his customers as being one of the best in the business.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Cross Lake for family gatherings, as well as boating/sailing, fishing, and deer hunting.
Through the years, Mike was also very active in numerous softball teams, golf and dart leagues, which typically ended up at a local pub where he spent time socializing with his vast network of friends and teammates.
Mike was a great lover of classic rock music… especially one band in particular…he is a life-long devoted fan of The Rolling Stones. His family and friends automatically associate Mike with The Stones! He was also a very talented woodworker, building numerous pieces of furniture for the home. He was always tinkering with something and could fix anything. Mike was also very proud of captaining weekly boat tours for the Camillus Erie Canal Park.
Even with his numerous hobbies, what he enjoyed most was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his extended family of friends. He loved to travel and looked forward to annual camping trips with his family.
Mike was a positive influence on us all, he never had a negative thing to say about anyone and never complained. Mike was a problem solver, a great story-teller and just a great go-to for any type of advice. He had a very unique perspective on life, but one thing is certain…His beer glass was half full… but not for long!
We will miss you, Mike, Dad, Papa. …the Man, the Myth, the Legend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hans M.Seubert, several aunts, uncles and cousins, including his aunt Maureen Seubert, with whom he had a special connection.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Rob Masters) Seubert-Wiegand and Michael (Kelly) Seubert; his loving partner of 19 years, Sharon Rozner; three grandchildren, Haidyn, Madyson, and Michael; his mother, Marcelle Seubert; siblings, Michelle (Michael Brown) DeJohn, Rick Seubert, Monique (J) Yanchisin and Eric (Kris) Seubert; uncle, Richard Seubert; several nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends than you could count.
Family and friends may call on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 3-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, where funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Camillus Erie Canal Park. Immediately following the calling hours, there will be a celebration of Mike’s life at the Bridge Street Tavern in Solvay. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
