Michael W. Rafferty

Michael W. "Pops" Rafferty, 69, of Central Square, passed away February 26, 2024. Michael was born in Syracuse, New York on November 29, 1954 and the son of Michael and Mary Rafferty.

Michael retired from UA Local 13 Plumbers and Pipefitter, of Rochester, NY.

Michael had a great love of music, so it was fitting that he married a musician. Both of his sons, Marcus Dane Rafferty and Michael A. Rafferty, are well known musicians who have traveled the world. Michael could not have been prouder of his sons, his grandchildren Dane Rafferty and Hunter Rafferty, and daughter-in-law, Ashley (Weir) Rafferty. Michael was loved by so many, they are uncountable.

Pops was smart and funny and kind and just a darn good man, and he will be missed by his loved ones forever.

He was preceded in death by Father, Michael J. Rafferty; and Mother, Mary Rafferty.

He is survived by his Wife of 43 years, Diane Martell-Rafferty; Two Sons, Michael A. Rafferty, Marcus Dane (Ashley) Rafferty; Two grandchildren, Dane Rafferty, Hunter Rafferty; Brother, Daniel Rafferty; many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins; and his dog, Bailey.

Family and friends may call on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 705 N. Main St North Syracuse, where
a funeral service will be held Friday at 7:00pm.

Interment will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00am in Constantia Rural Cemetery.
