Michael D. Pinto, Sr., 66, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday December 1. Born in the Bronx and raised in Liverpool, he was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and Saint Bonaventure University, where he was a member of the football team. He had a long, distinguished career with AT&T, and lived in New Jersey, Colorado, California, Nevada, and Florida before settling in Syracuse upon retirement to be with his son.
His passions included rooting for his beloved NY Giants and the Yankees. His presence will surely be missed at the Turning Stone Casino. Michael lived his life with humor and passion and enjoyed sharing stories of his many adventures. He taught us as much in his life as in his passing.
He was predeceased by his father, Michael J. Pinto and his mother, Margaret Pinto. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his son Michael D. Pinto, Jr., sisters; Peggy Presbyla, Judy Pinto and Kathi (Steve) Yarley, his former wife, Pamela Pinto, the Scott Family, several nieces and nephews, and last but not least, his beloved puggle Sophie.
Calling hours will take place Thursday December 8, 2016 from 5-7pm with a sharing of memories to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of CNY…Or the Humane Society.
The family would like to thank the 5th Floor Nursing and palliative care staff at Crouse Hospital for the gentle and loving care they provided our "Gentle Giant" in his final days.
