Michael J. McCarthy

Michael J. McCarthy, 81, of Syracuse, passed away December 9, 2024. 

Michael was born in Syracuse, New York on September 11, 1943 to the late William and Amelia McCarthy. 

A U.S. Army Veteran, Michael went on to work for Morris Protective Service and eventually retired from the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security. He was devout Christian who loved the Lord. His hobbies over the years included artwork and he was known for his sense of humor. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann M. McCarthy; Four daughters, Debra (Ken) Warder, Gayle (Michael) Purdy, Rose (Rob) Cooper and Vicki Stephens; son, Daniel McCarthy; and Nine Grandchildren. 

A private burial will be held at Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
