Michael E. Lyon, 61, of North Syracuse passed away Thursday at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse following a long illness. A life resident of Syracuse and a veteran of the US Navy, Mike worked at Lipe Rollway in Syracuse for many years and then with Nixon Gear in Solvay until his illness forced him to retire. He is predeceased by his wife Susan who died in June of 2000.
Mike is survived by a son; Stephen (Paula) of Cicero, two daughters; Denise Lyon and Tracy Lyon, both of MA, a sister; Cindy Hagan of Baldwinsville, two brothers; Robert of Florida and Barry of Tully, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Burial will be private. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 5-7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse. Contributions in Mike's name may be made to the Children's Hospital.
