Michael J. "Mikey" Chludzinski

Michael J. "Mikey" Chludzinski, born on September 25, 1935, in Syracuse, New York, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 89. A devoted member of the Syracuse community, Michael retired from Bradford Parkway, Syracuse, where he was employed as a Design Landscaper for the entirety of his career. Although he lived a private and quite life surrounded by family and friends, he embraced life with a spirit that was infectious. Mikey was an avid trout fisherman, finding great enjoyment in spending his time outdoors. He also had a love of animals. Mikey will leave behind a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him.

Mikey was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Crescenthia Chludzinski.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Chludzinski and son, Frank Chludzinski.  

As we remember Mikey, we celebrate his life, filled with love, laughter, and an enduring spirit that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to share in his journey. The family would like to leave you all with a poem Mikey kept sacred, tucked in his wallet. This poem provides comfort and hope to those experiencing grief. For at his passing, this is not the ending of his life, but the beginning of another.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow;

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain;

I am the gentle autumn’s rain.

When you awaken to morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft star that shines at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.

I am not there; I did not die.
