Michael A. Della Valle Jr.

Michael Angelo Della Valle Jr., 76, of North Syracuse, passed away Friday. He was a first generation Italian-American descendant of Michael and Margaret Della Valle of Naples, Italy. Mike was a veteran of the Korean War as an ambulance driver in a MASH unit. He was employed with Western Electric until he retired in 1984. He then worked at Hancock Field as a carpenter. He was involved with the New York Telephone Pioneers and the CWA 1123 Retirees Group. He enjoyed camping, gardening, travel, and was an avid Yankees fan. Mike especially loved being a father and spending time with his family.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Margaret "Peggy", his children Maureen (Mitchell) Patterson, Michael III, Kathleen, and Jimmy (Vanessa), his grandchildren Amanda Davis, Mitchell Patterson Jr., Joshua and Tyler Nessmiller, and great-grandchildren Drake, Bryant, Gwena, and Ariana. Mike is also survived by three siblings Peter, Ralph and Frances Della Valle; and predeceased by siblings Fred and Rose.
Services will be Tuesday, 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Monday from 3-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
