Merritt W. Roberts, 87, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on February 17, 1930 in Syracuse son of the late William and Edna Roberts.
Merritt drove truck for Corenco Co. for many years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his wife Barbara, whom he adored to the end. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his spare time and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Everett and his grandson Matthew Brownell.
Surviving are his wife Barbara, of 68 years, his children; Billy (Nancy) Roberts, Debra (Greg) Barker, Nancy (David) Ketchum, Jackie Leonhardt, Belinda Brownell (Dave), Merritt Roberts (Karen) and David Roberts, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, his sisters Linda Nemitz and Susie Fontana.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10-11 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., with services at 11am. Burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery.
