Maureen A. Awerdick
November 25, 1937 — December 29, 2020
Maureen A. (Cole) Awerdick, age 83 of Minoa, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, John J. Awerdick; parents, Al and Helen Cole; sister, Betty Cole; and sister-in-law, Diane Moses.
Maureen is survived by her children, Lisa (Ernest Capriotti) Holt of Fayetteville, NY and son, Scott (Kim) Townley of Queen Creeks, AZ; grandchildren, Paige (Michael LaValle) and Trevor Holt, and Mary and Kelley Townley; sister-in-law, Debbie Barry; and several cousins.
She was a graduate of Grant High School in Syracuse, afterwards worked as a Dental Hygienist prior to becoming a full-time mom. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to music, going out to dinner and attending mass at church. Maureen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. Mary's of Minoa, 401 N Main St, Minoa, NY 13116 at 11 AM with a burial to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Resources of CNY.
