Maryjean (Hawalka) Luteran, of Liverpool, passed away on Wednesday at Crouse Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kingston, PA, daughter of the late, Stanley and Agnes (Drobb) Hawalka. She was a loving, understanding, compassionate and caring mother. She adored her grandchildren and lived for them!
Maryjean loved being outdoors in the sunshine, enjoyed her flowers and watching birds. She loved playing cards and the company of others.
Surviving are her husband, Gene, son, Michael, daughters; Megan and Michelle, sister, Margaret Mary Biswanger, Maryjean was a loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren, Cody, Kaleb, Kaden, Anthony, Brooke, Logan, Lucas, Liberty and Lenox, along with aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 9:30-11:30am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Liverpool. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30am. Burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Lung Association or to St. Joseph the Worker Church.
