Mary Tallarico, age 97, of Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Loretto Nursing Home.
She was born in Syracuse, on January 13, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur and Carmella Caponera.
Mary enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables. She was owner-operator, along with her husband, Joseph Mascari, of a gift shop on Geddes Street and she retired from Key Bank after many years. Mary was also a member of St. Rose of Lima, where she volunteered in the cafeteria.
Mary is survived by her niece, Diane (Richard) LaPorte; step-grandchildren, Robert Tallarico, Joanne Tallarico, Peter Tallarico, Caroline Harmer; great step-granddaughter, Charlotte Harmer; along with many other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two husbands, Joseph Mascari and Joseph Tallarico; her two brothers, Arthur and Anthony; step-son, Peter Tallarico; and step-daughter, Carmella DePalma.
Graveside services will be private at St. Agnes Cemetery in Syracuse.
