Mary E. (Ryder) Phillips, 86, passed away on Thursday. Mary was born on August 7, 1931 in Lorraine, NY to the late Carnes and Anna Ryder.
She was the middle child of 11 and had 5 brother and 5 sisters. Mary graduated from Mexico High School, married the late Edward A. Phillips and raised her daughter, Cathleen Phillips Hayduke. She was actively passionate in seeking adventure. She loved traveling and living in different areas of the country. Mary cared deeply for her family, enjoyed her grandson, Zachary, his partner, Emily and their children, Alexander and Gabriel.
She is survived by daughter, Cathleen; son-in-law, Daniel Hayduke; grandson, Zachary; great grandsons, Alex and Gabe; along with brother, Pete; sisters, Margaret, Audrey, Beverly and Elaine and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday, November 11th 3-5 pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals in N. Syracuse. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 13th 10 am at St. Rose of Lima Church in N. Syracuse with burial to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
