Mary (Tortorello) Riel, 84, of Clay, passed away on Friday at University Hospital with her family by her side. She was born August 3, 1927 in Syracuse, daughter of Louis and Mary Tortorello. She was formerly married to Charles H. Riel of Clay. He passed away in July of 2011.
Surviving are a son, Chuck Riel, Clay, 3 daughters; Linda (Jerry) Lindsey, Brewerton, Mary Snowberger, Clay, Tina Riel, Liverpool, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Peter Tortorello, Lawrence (Beverly) Tortorello, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-8pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with a service to follow at 8pm.
Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
