Mary Theresa Lenehan

Mary Theresa Lenehan, 92, of Dewitt, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was born in Watertown, NY on October 15, 1930 to the late Florence and Kenneth McDonald. Mary graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1948 and attended business school after high school. She worked for Procter and Gamble before marrying her husband of 59 years, Ronald Lenehan in 1952. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. Mary was an avid bridge player, belonging to several bridge groups. She was also a voracious reader and when her eyesight failed she continued listening to books on audio. Mary also had a great love for music.
Mary volunteered for Literacy Volunteers, Meal on Wheels and the Humane Association of Central New York. For many years, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at their summer home on Sandy Pond.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Lenehan and her brother, Frederick McDonald.
She is survived by her son, John and his children, Michael and Maureen; daughter, Susan and her daughter, Molly; daughter, Julie Lenehan O'Connor and her children, Bridget, Rory and Tim, and a sister, Julia Percy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helping Hounds of Central New York or the American Heart Association.
