Mary Katherine "Kay" Whitham, 77, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mary selflessly donated a lot of her time to her community, charities and church. She was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Whitham.
Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gordon; three children, Laura (Thomas) Tucci, Steven (Brook) Whitham and Eileen Beak; four grandchildren, Chad Penoyer, Nathan Whitham, Renee (Mike) Longden and Allison Pettitt; one great-grandchild, Addie Longden; two step-grandchildren, Sarah (John) Mody and Joe Tucci; one step-great-grandchild, Marisa Mody; three siblings, Thomas Dunne, Maureen Webb and Teresa Dunne and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday 5-8PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday 10AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, N. Syracuse with burial to follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Golisano Children's Hospital or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
