Mary Ellen (Shannon) Reschke of Mattydale, was reunited with her husband Paul A. Reschke in heaven on Friday, surrounded by her family. Mary Ellen was born in Fulton, NY and moved to Syracuse while attending and graduating from St. Mary's School of Nursing, in the late 40's. She worked for many years at Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, NY. She was a long time member and past president of the Hinsdale Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael G. Shannon and Eva (Gorman) Shannon and her brother Michael Edward Shannon.
She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses; Lawrence (Kathleen) Reschke, Mary Margaret (Skip) Gale, Elizabeth (Dennis) Borland, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
A private burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery. Friends and family of Mary may call at a Reception in her honor at Borio's Restaurant, Lake Shore Rd., Cicero on Sat. Sept. 1, 2012 between 1 pm -2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers it was Mary's wishes that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105/ www.shop.stjude.org or to Hospice of CNY.
