Mary Elizabeth Uhrik, 89, of Mattydale, passed away Sunday with her family by her side, at the VA Medical Center, Syracuse. She served as a private first class in the Air Force, WAC in WWII, a long time Chappell's employee and a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She loved to play cards on Friday night and trying her luck at the Casino.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph; a daughter, Susan Coffin of Liverpool; a son, John (Linda) of Central Square; three grandchildren, Brian Becky and Sarah; two great grandchildren, Addison and Alyssa; a sister, Arlene Gillan; and a brother, James Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, 6PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3-6PM at the funeral home, before services.
Contributions in Mary's memory can be made to the VA Medical Center, Voluntary Services/ Wish List for ICU, 800 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
