Mary Anne Berkman
November 22, 2013
Mary Anne Berkman, 56, of Liverpool, NY, peacefully passed away at home, on Friday, November 22, 2013, with her husband at her side and surrounded by her dearest friends.
Mary Anne was born in Indio, CA on September 21, 1957 and grew up in the Daly City area of San Francisco, CA. She worked most of her adult life as an apartment manager throughout California's Bay Area, moving to the Syracuse area with her husband in 2004.
Blessed with a charitable heart and a beautiful voice, Mary could very often be found among the homeless, offering what small comfort she could and singing to them about the Lord, of whom she was truly a daughter of. When not comforting the homeless, Mary Anne loved reading, baking, cooking, and feeding the area's stray animals, often adopting as many as her husband would allow.
She lived her life looking past the obvious bad and for the good in all that she met or knew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Jo Reinhorn, brother, Charles Reinhorn, and nephew Philip Wood.
Mary is survived by and leaves behind to mourn in her passing a loving husband of 16 plus years, Donald Berkman; her 4 children, Melissa and Samual Jones of Macon, GA, Jotisha Jones of Richmond, CA and Christopher McGoff of Albany, NY; four grandchildren, Jasmine, Nia and Mekenzie Jones of Macon and Cory Dickerson of Richmond, CA as well as her siblings, David, Thomas and Rebecca Allen of Kansas City, KS and Max Reinhorn of Albany as well as a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
