Mary Ann Riley Olszewski, 77 of Liverpool died Friday at Crouse Hospital following a brief battle with cancer.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. "Mar" enjoyed entertaining and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed holidays, cooking her special dishes for family and friends, golfing and summers at Brennan Beach. She was previously employed with Chapman Lumber and Agway as a telephone operator and receptionist. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Richard A. "Big O" who died on May 31, 2010.
Surviving are three sons, Michael A. (Kathleen) of N. Syracuse, Richard J. (JoLee) of Cicero and John A. (Jody) Olszewski of Greensboro, NC; a brother, John "Pete" Riley of N. Syracuse; five grandchildren, Erikka, Korrie, Casey, Sydney and Lucas Olszewski; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Liverpool. Burial will be at a later date in North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hour will be 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, 427 Beechwood Ave.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her favorite charity St. Jude Children's Hospital.
