Martin E. Ferguson Sr.

Martin E. Ferguson Sr., 77, of Cicero, passed away November 2, 2024. Martin was born in Utica, New York on July 29, 1947 to James and Dorothy Ferguson. 

Martin retired from Crouse Hinds after 12 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, and also a member of the Outcast M.C. 

In his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, playing the guitar, listening to live blues music, NASCAR racing, and traveling to national motorcycle rallies. Martin was known as the life of the party, and loved spending time and playing with his grandson. He was a man of few words, but everyone could feel his sense of love and loyalty for family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Linda Ferguson; father, James C. Ferguson; and mother, Dorothy A. Ferguson.

He is survived by his son, Martin (Christine) Ferguson Jr.; grandson, Martin John Ferguson (Baby Ferg); sister, Linda Welch; niece, Kelly Woods; step-son, Ivan Mothersell; and six nephews, Kyle Woods, Brian Welch, Jordan Welch, Matthew Welch, Scott Cooper and Kyle Cooper. 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 12:00-4:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse.  A funeral service will follow on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at North Syracuse Cemetery. To view the service, click here.
