Mark J. Squire, 57, of North Syracuse, New York died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

Mark played many roles in his life. People knew him as a coach, a teammate, a boss, a best friend, a best man, and a boater to name a few. He was a devoted and loving husband for over 34 years, a doting father, and mentor to many. He was an avid Red Sox and Packer fan. He graduated from Cortland State and received his MBA from Binghamton University. Mark was President and Administrator of James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Syracuse. While employed by James Square for over 35 years, he protected and loved both the residents and employees. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Ruth Menzie Squire and a brother, Gary Squire.

Surviving are his wife, the former, Susan Barnholdt; son, Douglas (Colleen Callahan) Squire of Binghamton, New York; daughter, Jennifer Squire of Liverpool, New York; sisters, Linda Squire of Camillus, New York and Lois Beckman of Liverpool, New York; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero, New York.

Burial in North Syracuse Cemetery will be private.

There will be no calling hours.

Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Resident Benefit League of James Square c/o James Square 918 James Street, Syracuse, New York 13203.
