Mark Ellinger Sr., 63, of Clifton Park passed away June 8, 2020.
Mark was born in Syracuse NY on December 8, 1956 to the late Thomas Ellinger, Sr. and Jeanette Ellinger. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ellinger.
He was a graduate of Corcoran High School and Onondaga Community College. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1976 where he was stationed on the US Sacramento. Following the Navy he worked at General Electric and in the summer of 2018 he retired from the NYS DMV as a Manager of the Motor Vehicle License Examiner Unit, working for the state for 26 years.
Mark loved to golf, vacation (especially the beach), sports (SU, Mets, Broncos, Giants), cook, listen to music and complete cross word puzzles. He really enjoyed life and was always optimistic.
He had a great love for his wife Debbie, family, friends and his beloved Golden Retriever, Roxie. Mark was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. We often laughed at his antics from throwing his clubs in the woods to attempting the Macarena; to singing the loudest to Jimmy Buffet and Zac Brown songs. He loved to travel with his wife, friends and family and especially treasured the time with his beloved Roxie.
Mark you will be greatly missed; we picture you up there with Roxie on the beach your toes in the water, ass in the sand, eating a cheeseburger in paradise listening to Jimmy Buffet.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Sthilaire-Ellinger, his Mother, Jeanette Ellinger, his son Mark Ellinger Jr., his seven brothers: Paul (Kathy), Tommy, Joe (Cindy), Patrick (Tammy), John, Max (Theresa), Gus; his three sisters: Theresa (David) Villanueva, Kathy (Ed) Labulis, Helen (Mike) Frasciello, his aunt; Renee Vault and multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Services will be private for family and friends at New Comer Funeral Home, Main Street, North Syracuse on Wednesday, June 17 from 10:00 to 12:00 followed by a gravesite ceremony at Phoenix Rural Cemetery.
