Marjorie Kocher Roberts, 90, of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday February 7th. She was born on October 17, 1932 in Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Beatrice Kocher and the sister of the late Frederic Kocher.
Marge graduated from North High School in 1950 and attended Cortland State College. She married Mervyn E. Roberts, Jr. in 1956. They moved to Florida in 1959. In 1961 Merv was recalled into the Air Force. The family followed him on his tours of duty and lived in San Bernadino, CA, Pruem and Weisbaden Germany, Montgomery, AL, McGuire, AFB, NJ and finally Kadena AFB, Okinawa where he retired in 1978. The family returned to Syracuse and Marge graduated from Onondaga Community College in 1983 with honors with a degree in Human Services. She worked as a counselor at the former Benjamin Rush Center until 1998. She was "A Friend of Bill W" for several years and had many friends in the Fellowship. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her friends and family. She is predeceased by her husband, Major Mervyn E. Roberts Jr. (Ret.).
Marge is survived by her daughters; Deborah Bowen, Baldwinsville, Sarah (Kurt) Richardson, Liverpool, sons; Mervyn E. (Gail) Roberts, III, TX, Christopher (Kelly) Roberts, NC and 6 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday Feb. 19th from 2-4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will take place at White Chapel Memory Gardens.
