Marjorie Ann (Hamm) Soderberg was born on November 27, 1926 in Warren, PA to Frank and Mary Hamm. She was born twin sister to Marion L. (Hamm) Mastandrea (who predeceased her in 1982). She is survived by one brother, Frank J. Hamm, of Corning NY. She is also survived by her five children; sons, David and William Mark (Nancy) Soderberg; daughters, Valli (Donn) Brown, Lisa Soderberg and Kathi (Dennis) Meadows; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife who married the love of her life, Dale L. Soderberg, on August 19, 1951. They lived in many places throughout their lives, finally settling in Hamilton, NY in 1968. Marjorie was a graduate of Houghton College (bachelors) and Wheaton College (masters) where she majored in Biblical Studies and Education. She was predeceased by her husband in 2010 and by her daughter-in-law, Melanie Soderberg, in 2008.

Marjorie will be remembered as a dear mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was patient and kind, always thoughtful of those around her and a constant source of love. Marge took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She worked as an elementary school teacher, Colgate University librarian, Sunday School teacher and travel tour guide. In "retirement", she worked with her husband in Yellowstone National Park and also in Papua, New Guinea. She loved everything that bloomed and was a member of the Hamilton Garden Club. She adored animals, especially dogs. The daughter of a baker, she never met a cookie she didn't like. Marge was a world traveler, having ventured throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Asia and Africa. She was a communicant of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fayetteville, NY.

She will be missed by family and friends alike. Calling hours are 4-7pm on Thursday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. A funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at 11am on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to ELCA World Hunger at community.elca.org.
