Marion T. Lamie, 87, of Cicero, NY, passed away at home on Friday. Marion was born on January 1, 1933 to parents Viola (d. 1991) and Daniel Tyrell (d. 1978).
During the next 23 years Marion became the older sister to four sisters and one brother. During a chance encounter at a dance, Marion met Theodore "Ted" Lamie. Marion and Ted married in 1951 and Marion became not an "in-law" but a daughter to Hazel (d.1982) and Samuel Lamie (d.1974), and sister to Ted's five brothers, three sisters and aunt to nephews and nieces.
Marion was a homemaker/mother until 1963 when she was employed by General Electric in Syracuse, NY. Marion was last employed at American Bank Stationary in Liverpool NY.
After retiring, Marion and Ted traveled the United States. Marion enjoyed playing cards, playing dominos, the casinos and chatting with her friends and family.
Marion mourned the loss of many loved ones through the years, and in December 2000 Ted passed away. In 2013, Marion was to mourn her greatest loss, when her youngest child, daughter, Diane (Lance) Mills lost her battle with ALS. It is now our time to mourn the passing of Marion as she leaves behind, daughters, Jacklyn (Scott) Brown, Cicero, NY, Jan Figueroa, Brandon, Florida; sons, James, PA and David (Caroline), Hannibal, NY; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many many friends.
Marion will live and be loved forever in our hearts.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of PACE CNY, whom she considered friends, for the care they provided Marion over the past two and a half years.
