Marion E. Stonecipher
January 1, 2016
Marion E. Stonecipher, 77, lifelong resident of North Syracuse passed away on Friday with her loving family by her side.
Marion was the daughter of the late Francis and Olive Letterman.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert and her brother, Lindy Letterman. The last years of her life were spent enjoying her beautiful grandchildren, while somehow finding time to read literally hundreds of books. Marion was Co-Owner(with her son, Lance) of the Bike Loft in North Syracuse, where she presided over the BMX, Freestyle and Skateboard areas.
Marion touched many lives with her nurturing, respectful nature and friendly smile. The shop sponsored a bike team and regularly brought in Professional Freestyle Teams for her "Kids" to enjoy. Prior to the Bike Shop, she was employed at General Electric and as a Stanley Home Products Rep. She was also an Officer and Life Member of the Harley Owners Group, a group which she and husband, Bob were very active in, both here in Syracuse, and in Daytona Beach, Florida.
As members of The Eliminators Motorcycle Club, they were instrumental in promoting motorcycle flat track races at the Fairgrounds, motorcycle hill climbs and custom motorcycle shows. Obviously, two wheeled vehicles played a big part in Marion's life.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Candie (Don) Denmeade; son, Lance (Tracy) Stonecipher; 4 grandchildren: Sabrina and Luke Stonecipher, Jeremy Denmeade and Gavin Snyder, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
