Marie S. Burdick

Marie S. Burdick, 82 of Pennellville, went to the Lord on Friday surrounded by loved ones at her home. Born and raised in Syracuse, she graduated from North High School Class of 1946. She was formerly employed with Crouse Hinds. In 1971 she started a family business with her husband Dick (MS Burdick Mobile) in Pennellville. She was a member of the "Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club" for over 40 years and has gathered with former classmates of North High monthly for over 10 years who she lovingly referred to as the "eighty group". She loved to crochet and gave away over a thousand scarves, she loved camping, fishing and travelling with her companion John, their dog Jack and Will the bird. Her face would light up when she told you she was the proud mother of nine children, fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and shared the many stories that go along with it, her smile and never ending love of family will be missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard B., son Michael Burdick, mother Marie, father Charles, brother Charles Skutt and sister Beatrice Corrigan.
She is survived by her sons, David, Richard W. (Donald Griffin), Timothy (Janice), Steven (Lisa) Burdick; daughters, Eileen and Elaine Burdick Mary (Martie) Sweeney, Doreen (Doug) Herbert and Gail (Ray) Shutts; Her loving companion of fifteen years, John Parker; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, 10 AM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Burial will follow in Pennellville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4PM, at the funeral home.
