Marie E. (Reeve) Pierce, 84, of Pompey, passed away December 10, 2014. Born in Cortland, NY. A graduate of Cortland High School in 1952 and moved to Syracuse area after graduation. As a mother of 8 children she enjoyed many activities around the home indoors and outdoors. She also enjoyed horseback riding and swimming with friends. She was a 4-H leader for several years and a caregiver for children and adults. Also donated her time for many organizations. She enjoyed travelling the country and also traveled abroad to England and Italy. Marie had a long distance relationship with her "Italian Family" for over 40 years.
Marie was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Wendal A. Pierce (1991) and her son, Andrew E. Pierce (2013).
She is survived by her daughters, Crystal Pierce, Dorene (Lawrence) Hefferman, Jill (Ronald) Long, Glenda Hoffmann, Wendy (Nelson) Hadley; sons, Scott Pierce, Tracy (Cathy Newton) Pierce; brother, Edgar Reeve (Wyoming); sister, Rosemary Bache (Florida); one granddaughter; six grandsons; and her companion of 15 years, Wendell Rotter.
Calling hours will be Saturday, Dec. 20th 12:30-2:30PM with a memorial service at 3PM at Fabius Christian Church, Route 80, Fabius, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fabius Christian Church, the American Diabetes Association or the American Parkinson's Disease Association.
