Marie Agnes Damanski

Marie Agnes "Ducky" Damanski, 97, lifetime resident of East Syracuse, passed away December 7, 2019.

Marie was born in Syracuse on December 5, 1922 to the late Ward and Theresa Deyo Halsey. She married her best friend and childhood sweetheart, Frank "F.D." Damanski on August 30, 1941. Marie was a past president of The VFW East Syracuse Chapter, a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of the Daughters of the Civil War Heroes, and a member P.E.A.C.E in East Syracuse. In her free time, Marie loved spending time with family and friends, going to the area casinos, shopping, cooking, spending time on Oneida Lake and vacationing in Long Lake, Canada.

She was preceded in death by husband, Frank; parents, Ward and Theresa Halsey; her daughter, Tena Given.

Marie is survived by three sons, Daniel (Sue) Damanski, James (Suzanne) Damanski, Mark (Eva) Damanski; a daughter, Marla (James) Schmick; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, where a funeral ceremony will immediately follow. Interment will be in Collamer Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital and the Padre Pio Foundation of America.
