Marian Gallanis Bullock, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 21, 2012 with family members present, at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Center. A life-long resident of the Syracuse area, she was fond of remembering her girlhood days working with her family at the Be-Brite Restaurant on South Salina Street and later as a self-taught accountant for Gould-Farmer, the local GE distributor. Married in 1968 to Dr. Charles Bullock, she raised two daughters, Gloria and Victoria, and also found time to obtain formal degrees in accounting at Onondaga Community College, Lemoyne College and Syracuse University. She was very proud of her remarkable and unique collection of Disney Snow White figurines and accessories. She loved to travel and was also active in church work.
Marian is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles, daughters Dr. Gloria (Alex) Morris of Queens, New York and Victoria (Dennis) Krukowski of Cicero, New York, and was extremely proud of her 8 remarkable grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother George (Wilma) Gallanis of Novi, Michigan, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.
Marian was predeceased by her parents, George and Edna Gallanis and her sister, one of her best buddies, Gloria Gallanis Dayton.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church, 6142 Cicero-Bridgeport Road (Route 31), Cicero, New Yoprk. Burial will follow at the Onondaga Valley Cemetery in Nedrow.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to a memorial fund in Marian's name at Faith Lutheran Church, Cicero.
