Marian Etta (Coble) Eichelberger was born in Clearfield, PA in April 1944. She had two hard working parents, and a brother and sister to share her sweet nature.
Marian spent her life caring for others. She married and had three children. She loved her three children with her heart. David, Karen and Gregory were her pride and joy.
She opened her home and heart to a dozen foster children. She touched so many lives with her kind words and warm smile. Marian never truly understood how amazing she was. Her selflessness was immense, so much so that she needed to think about herself more often.
Marian made an awesome apple pie. Her corn casserole was a tradition everyone looked forward to at family functions. She made homemade strawberry jam, pickles and bread. She also sewed clothes and quilts for the people she loved. She thrived at several jobs over the course of her lifetime. She was incredibly organized, and a great receptionist for the Crouse School of Nursing, a furniture distributor, and others. She decided to greet people at Walmart to finish out her working career.
She loved all animals. She was always concerned about the welfare of the furry and feathered. She loved her dogs very much. Her dogs sensed her kind spirit and gravitated to her. She talked to animals and people alike. Most often, she smiled more for the animals. Marian collected stamps, listened to music and passionate about helping others. She enjoyed watching birds fly around outside her living room window. She would always ask for bird feed for Christmas gifts. When Marian was 60 years old, she went skydiving. She said it was the most amazing feeling. Her family is so proud of her.
Marian joins her son, David; her brother, Larry; her parents and her niece and nephew.
She has graced the following people for many years: her daughter, Karen, son, Gregory, Grandchildren; David, Emily and Michael, her son-in law, Don and her partner, Mike. She is also survived by her lovely sister, amazing nieces, nephews, many wonderful family members and friends. She has touched the lives of so many others. If you knew Marian, then she graced your life as well. When asked to share a memory about Marian, many family members stated she was the most kindhearted and graceful woman they ever met. She was a role model for the young. She was an amazing comrade for her peers.
To honor Marian and to celebrate her time with us, we ask that you do something Marian would do: say a kind word to someone as often as you can, hug a friend, make a nest for someone who is ill, go sky diving, pet a dog, adopt a dog, pay it forward…
In lieu of flowers or services, please consider donating to "Helping Hounds" or a local animal shelter. She wasn't famous like Betty White. However, her heart was just as big. Her story and her kindhearted actions can live on with you.
