Maria A. Fanizzi

Maria A Fanizzi of Cicero, NY passed away peacefully with her family by her side, October 14, 202. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, she spent most of her life in Syracuse, NY.

Maria was a member of St. Daniels Mary & Martha society in the 70's, taught CCD, bowled in various city leagues, and was an avid card player. A Phillips Hairstyling Institute graduate, Maria opened her own cosmetology business and successfully ran a trucking company in Liverpool, NY.

Her passions included cooking and baking for the holidays, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four children, Sam (Francine), Julie, Joseph (Carrie), and James "Jimmers"; brother, Richard Griffo; grandchildren, Mike (Carrie), Sammy (Lindsey), Alison (Matt), Jojo, & Taylor; and three great grandchildren, Adelyn, Amelia, & Miles; niece, Marcia; nephew Tom; in addition to several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Maria is predeceased by her parents, Mary & Sam Griffo.

The family would like to express gratitude for the compassionate care that was given by the staff at Crouse 4th Floor Cardiac Unit.

Calling hours will take place at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse on Monday October 18th, 2021 from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will follow at 7pm.
