Margaret A. Schnell

Margaret Schnell (78), beloved mother and wife, born June 12, 1940, was a loving woman of strong faith. She departed this life Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Elba, Alabama, Margaret relocated to North Syracuse in the 1950's where she raised her family. A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed traveling, especially to the Carolinas, where she spent many winters on the beach. She also loved spending time with family, gardening, and some occasional retail therapy.

She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Erwin Schnell, and her five children: Elaine Lape (Jeffrey), Laurie Kline (James), Melissa Schnell Asaro, Kristin Perotti (David), and John Schnell. Special thanks to her local daughters; Elaine, Laurie, and Melissa for their compassionate care in her time of need. Margaret loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Christopher Shepard (Ciara), Kayla Shepard (David), Jenna Shepard (Graeme), Brandon Stevens, Nicole and Alexa Cullen and her great grandchildren, Aoife, Alexandra, Airlie. She is also survived by brothers Larry and Cleve and predeceased by siblings James, Frank, Bernie, Dick and Nell.
