CENTRAL SQUARE - Margaret "Peg" LeVine died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 28,2021. She was born November 27, 1945 in Albany, NY, the daughter of Thomas Francis and Margaret Faire Cassidy.
Peg was a graduate of The Academy of Holy Names in Albany, NY. She lived in Central Square
for nearly fifty years and was passionate about serving in areas of the community where her children and their friends were involved. She was employed by the Central Square School District and Oswego County BOCES.
She volunteered her time with Central Square Little League, coached softball, and was a dedicated member of the High School Booster Club. Peg was a devout Catholic and had a strong personal connection with St. Michael's Catholic Church
in Central Square.
She was also proud of her Irish heritage and was supportive of her husband's involvement in racing standardbred horses. Peg was always eager to watch baseball, especially her grandson's games. Peg and Alan enjoyed traveling to a variety of destinations in the United States.
They enjoyed golfing together and were in disbelief after she made a hole-in-one by skipping the tee shot off the water and onto the green at the West Hill Golf Club. Peg is survived by her loving husband, Alan LeVine.
Peg was a loving mother to her children, Jill Perfield Anelli of Syracuse, NY and David (Lisa) Perfield of Sparks Glencoe, MD. She was an enthusiastically proud grandmother of Brandon (Jill) Anelli and Anna and Lexi (David and Lisa) Perfield.
Peg is also survived by her step-children, Michelle (Timothy) Combs and Steven LeVine, both of Syracuse, NY.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 9:00 am at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Route 11, Central Square, NY. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 5 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main Street, North Syracuse, NY.
The family would like to specially thank Hospice of CNY and Kelly Hackett, the private nurse who cared for Peg while she was home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York and Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
